On Monday, the court was told phone records and evidence obtained from phones logged Ms Wandelt repeatedly demanding Madeleine's mother for a biological test over the past two years.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - when she was three years old during a family holiday in Portugal - is among the most covered investigations and continues to be unsolved.

'I Do Not Need Money'

Another recorded message, played in court, captured Ms Wandelt stating: "I know I'm heavy and not pretty like Madeleine had been, but I know what I feel."

While one recording of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's answerphone stated: "What if there is a slight possibility that I am Madeleine? What then? Wouldn't that be crucial for you?"

"I don't want money, I maintain a living here in Poland, I just want to know," the recording stated.

The jury was informed that through electronic messages, mobile messages and calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a genetic test, forwarded youth pictures to her phone in a effort to show a likeness to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and claimed to have "recollections" from a youth with the McCanns.

The investigator, an intelligence analyst with law enforcement who gathered the evidence, told the court there "showed no any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also reached out to acquaintances of the McCanns, based on the phone records.

On 9 October 2024, Mr McCann answered a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "the wrong phone."

That day Ms Wandelt recorded a message on Mrs McCann's voicemail declaring "I will continue and I plan to establish my point."

The court heard the co-defendant established a relationship through digital means with Ms Wandelt before accompanying her on a appearance to the McCanns' property in Leicestershire in that winter.

Communication data showed Mrs Spragg had communicated via WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to state the news outlets had depicted Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she should be taken seriously in the months leading up to the trip to the village, that area, in that winter.

The court was told correspondence between the two accused, in that autumn, considering endeavoring to acquire Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her trash or from utensils at a eating establishment.

"We need to make a stand," Mrs Spragg told Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the visit to their home, the defendant transmitted a communication which stated: "We are positioned near the McCanns' house with our headlights off like private investigators. I had hoped to achieve this with Peter Andrew I hadn't anticipated I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The proceedings ongoing.
