Emma Raducanu reached the third round in three of the four major tournaments during the season.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has pulled out of her final two events in 2025 due to a medical condition that has affected her in recent days.

At 22 years old was scheduled to compete in events in Asia but opted to return home to recover ahead of launching next year's training.

These plans will include coach Francisco Roig, as they will keep partnering in 2026.

She underwent blood pressure monitoring during her first-round match with Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and stopped playing when losing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

Another medical visit was necessary a doctor's assessment at this week's Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.

She was also playing far from freely in the final set versus Zhu because of the lower back problem that has troubled her at times this year.

Those results signaled a promising season, in which Raducanu rose into the top 30 globally after a long gap for the first time since 2022, concluded with three straight losses.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points then was defeated by Jessica Pegula in the third stage in last month's Beijing event.

She secured 28 matches in the current season and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her standout performance was at March's Miami Open.

As Britain's top player advanced to the quarters of the WTA 1000 event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament before losing in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She worked with Mark Petchey as coach from Miami until Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in in time for the US Open.

The original arrangement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was through the season's conclusion but the collaboration persists, with planned training sessions for the end of the year.

She mentioned that a three-day test period alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

She nearly succeeded to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their first tournament together in Cincinnati in August.

Roig joined her in New York, where she advanced to round three prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
