Nearly 55,000 homes have so far been impacted by the storms, with their belongings and dwellings destroyed.

Persistent storms over the last seven days have worsened the precarious situation of the hundreds of thousands of displaced residents in the region, as reported by relief organizations.

"Awful" Night Creates Grave Dangers

A representative detailed the previous night's conditions as "awful", with rain so intense that around 15cm (6in) of water was seen on the ground.

"These conditions was truly terrible for the residents. The heavy rains were so intense... And the gales were so forceful," said the representative.

Officials express significant worry that children living in tents in wet clothing will fall victim to hypothermia and additional ailments.

Casualties and Significant Destruction

Health authorities have confirmed that one baby has died from the cold and at least 11 other people have died in structural failures due to the severe weather.

Additional accounts put a higher fatality count. Authorities stated that numerous structures had collapsed completely and dozens had collapsed partially.

  • Roughly 55,000 families affected by flooding.
  • More than 40 official safe spaces inundated.
  • Numerous individuals compelled to move once more.

Relief Operations Considered Inadequate

Agencies have escalated deliveries of shelter, bedding and clothing after the halt in hostilities commenced, but they stress there is still not enough aid reaching those in need.

"We are striving constantly to provide that assistance and to hand it out, but the magnitude of the requirements is so enormous that we continue to see a great number of individuals and minors who are genuinely struggling nightly," warned one spokesperson.

Future Issues and Truce Provisions

The subsequent part of the truce involves arrangements for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with post-war governance, the withdrawal of troops, and other conditions.

Relief organizations have highlighted the necessity for "expanded and ongoing humanitarian assistance to address immediate and ongoing requirements."

The war was initiated by an assault in the autumn of 2023. Following campaigns have resulted in a substantial number of casualties in the region, according to medical data.
