Hulu to Bring a Far Cry TV Show from the Creators of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The most recent Far Cry instalment that players experienced was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the antagonist, Antón, and debuted during October 6, 2021. As a series, it has a reputation for delighting in chaos and mayhem with similar excitement, all while weaving gripping, politically driven narratives. Little surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry anthology series attracted two producers whose creations have exemplified all of those qualities.

What to Expect

Based on Ubisoft's successful video game series, the short-run anthology series will stream on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The anthology will also follow the video games' style by introducing a fresh location and cast of characters in subsequent series.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as showrunners on the series via their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared outstanding partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are working together for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is original, engrossing, and wildly entertaining. We also want to thank our collaborators at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this cherished property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also star in the show, but at the time of writing, we have no details on what character that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just greenlit for another season, with FX and Disney finalizing a new comprehensive agreement with the showrunner.

“Having the opportunity together with Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly generous, placing faith in us with one of the most famous video-game worlds ever created. And through it all, my FX family always encourages me with their ongoing belief and support.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology-style program. Each game is a variation of a idea, the same way every series of Fargo is a version on a theme,” explained Hawley. “To create a large-scale action show that can evolve from one instalment to the next, while always exploring the core of people through this intricate and turbulent viewpoint, is a dream come true. I’m thrilled to collaborate with Rob and present our shared bold, ambitious approach to the television.”

A time frame for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
